TL;DR — We don't have accounts, we don't collect your name, we don't track you across the web, and we don't sell anything to anyone. Your guess history lives in your browser, on your device.
① What We Collect
Marvdle does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, location, IP-derived profile, or any other personally identifying information through the Site itself.
② Local Storage
Marvdle uses your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage to remember things only on your device. That includes:
- Today's daily-challenge progress (which guesses you've made, whether you've finished today's case)
- Your stats — games played, win rate, current streak, max streak, guess distribution
- Saved progress for any back-issue (archive) games you've started
- An ephemeral session token for unlimited mode, so a refresh keeps the same suspect
This data never leaves your browser. We don't read it. Clearing your browser storage will erase it permanently — including your streak, so do so with care.
③ Cookies and Tracking
Marvdle does not set tracking cookies and does not use advertising or profiling analytics. Browser-native features such as localStorage and sessionStorage are used only to keep the Game playable, as described above.
④ Anonymous Analytics
To understand how many people visit the Site and which pages they land on, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics service. Cloudflare's beacon counts page views, top pages, referrers, country (derived from IP and then discarded), browser, and device class. It does not set cookies, does not store your IP address, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites. The data we see is aggregate and anonymous. You can read Cloudflare's policy for this product at cloudflare.com/web-analytics-privacy.
⑤ Third-Party Resources
The Site loads typefaces from Google Fonts at runtime. When your browser fetches a font, Google may receive your IP address and User-Agent header as part of the standard HTTP request — we don't have access to that data and don't request it. See Google's privacy policy for details on how they handle font requests.
The Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon described in ④ is also loaded from a third-party domain (static.cloudflareinsights.com); standard HTTP request metadata reaches Cloudflare as a result.
⑥ Children
Marvdle is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13, because we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
⑦ Sharing
If you tap "Share the Win," we generate a text summary of your game and hand it to your operating system's native share sheet (or the clipboard, if sharing isn't supported). What happens after that is between you and the app you paste it into. We don't see it.
⑧ Your Choices
You can clear all Marvdle data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain. There is no server-side record to delete because we don't keep one.
⑨ Changes
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
